Custom Basemaps
- Custom basemaps are available for a wide variety of vehicles including; Mazda Miata, OBD1/OBD2 Honda/Acura, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan and many more running on various ECU platforms. A complete list of parts installed on your car and engine will need to be supplied to ensure basemap accuracy (displacement, fuel injector brand and size, fuel pump, turbo/supercharger used, target boost pressure, fuel octane rating, and anything else that will help).
- A basemap is intended to be used to fire up your car and run to a point where you can check for fuel, oil or other fluid leaks and load it on a trailer or driven very gently to a professional tuner to be fully tuned. Do not attempt to do wide open throttle pulls as fueling and spark maps will more than likely not be optimum and may cause damage to your vehicle. We are not responsible for damage, injury or death to you, your car, or public property as a result of misuse of the basemap.
- Some cars are easier to make basemaps for simply out of familiarity with them. The basemap will be emailed to you after payment has been confirmed. If your basemap has issues or fails to fire up the car, we will make the necessary adjustments and email a new basemap to you so long as the issue is with the basemap.
Remote Tuning
- Remote tuning in its simplest form involves me logging into your laptop computer which is connected to your vehicle’s ECU from anywhere on this planet. This done using “Any Desk” screen sharing program over a Wi-Fi or hotspot connection. Remote tuning offers the full experience of an in person tune without having to travel hours to get to a tuner.
- The use of this service is very flexible, and so it may be used for dyno tuning, street tuning on closed sections of road, racetrack support, tutoring or troubleshooting. We offer support for a wide variety of engine management systems, so confirm via email that yours is supported.
- In order to be able to remote tune your vehicle quickly and properly, it is expected that your vehicle would be mechanically and electronically sound prior to the start of the tuning. At minimum, the vehicle MUST be fitted with a functional wideband oxygen sensor, however other monitoring gauges such as oil pressure, oil temp, coolant pressure etc, are highly recommended. A solid internet connection is also critical to allowing efficient use of remote tuning time.
- Prices for remote tuning session will vary based on the engine management system being used, specific parts installed on the car and other variables such as type or number of fuels the car will be tuned for (flex fuel, methanol etc). Prices generally range from $300-$600. A $75 deposit will be charged to book your remote tuning session. The balance amount will be Paypal invoiced and emailed to you. Full payment must be made in full before commencement of tune session. All “Full” naturally aspirated and forced induction remote tuning packages are allotted a maximum of 4 and 5 hours respectively. If full allotted time is utilized and you wish to continue, then additional fees will be applied. A minimum 24 hours notice is required for remote tune scheduling. If you wish to cancel a remote tune appointment, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. The tune session begins as per the agreed booking time. In the event of a no-show or tardiness, the clock will run 30 mins after which deposit amount will be forfeited. All deposits are non refundable.
- All remote tune deposits and payments are automatically forfeited if remote session is not used within 90 days of purchase. In a situation where the session is cut short due to a part failure or issue, the customer will be allowed 90 days from the date of purchase of session.
- All Full tune remote tune packages come with 90 days of free support from the day of purchase, for any tweaks and fixes that may be necessary after completion of tune session, such as cold start adjustments, idle adjustments etc. This support does not cover tune adjustments which may be required if; vehicle’s fuel is switched to alternative fuel (ethanol, methanol, race gas), boost pressure is increased, mechanical/electronic part fails/is failing or is changed.
- All remote tune inquires will be screened and further details of your vehicles may be requested. Once all details are ironed out and payment is confirmed, the appointment will be scheduled. At this point it will be assumed that the policies outlined above were read and agreed to.
Open Source Subaru ECU E-tuning
- Modern Subaru vehicles from the year 2001, allow tuning to be done on the factory engine management system. Ecuflash, and Romraider programs are used to calibrate the factory Subaru ecu, you will also need a Tactrix cable to allow a connection from your laptop to the car’s obd2 port. It is expected that you will have a laptop with the above listed programs in addition to the Tactrix cable set up.
- An aftermarket wideband sensor is required for proper calibration. This wideband must be connected to the ecu via serial connection or hardwired to the factory harness.
- In most cases a custom basetune file will be sent to you before hand based on your installed parts. A live remote session via “Anydesk” will be scheduled after payment has been confirmed. This session will be used to setup your car’s Romraider logging profile and perform initial calibrations to the rom. After this initial live session, the rest of your tuning will be done via tune/datalog exchange. You will be given instruction on how to drive to collect the data. Its very important that you follow these instructions as damage to your vehicle may occur otherwise.
- All Subaru E-tunes are valid for a 60 day period with unlimited revisions during this period. Revisions will be done as quickly as possible but wait will vary based on daily workload. Typical turn around time is 1-3 business days.
- All Subaru E-tune purchases are non refundable once tune revision process has began. If the tune is cancelled within 7 days of purchase and before tuning process has began then 100% refund is applicable.
Risks and Liabilities
- You agree that modifying an automobile beyond factory specs is risky and damage to your engine may occur despite best practices. You agree that DCwerxTuned will not be held liable to any damage or injury to you or your vehicle or any other person or property during this process.
